Raje names three Asiatic Cubs as Tara , Tripur and Tejas

The Asiatic lion (Panthera leo persica), also known as the Indian lion and Persian lion, is a lion subspecies that lives as a single population in Gujarat, India. The three cubs littered by Asiatic lioness at Nahargarh Biological Park named Tejika on May 19 have been named by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje herself.

In a tweet from her official account, Raje introduced the new members of the Nahargarh Biological Park with a photograph and caption. She tweeted, "Tara, Tripur & Tejas - Meet the most adorable new members of the #Nahargarh Biological Park family". Out of the three, Tara is a female cub, whereas Tripur and Tejas are Male cubs.

In a first time in three decades a lioness has given birth in Jaipur. In January 2016, Tejika (female) and Siddhartha (male), Asiatic Lion couple were shifted from Gir Forest National Park from Gujarat to Jaipur. Forest Department is also planning to shift Asiatic lions fromJodhpur’s Machia Biological Park to the Nahargarh Biological Park in Jaipur. Lion pair, named Shravan and Tithi, be shifted to Jaipur and colonised with another pair of Asiatic lions at the Nahargarh Biological Park.
